Sanctuary History

The Sanctuary opened in 1972 in one half of the Pub building with about 20 seats, expanding to the entire pub building a year later. In 1988 we added the Red Room.

Our Building

The Pub building dates from the 1840’s with native stone walls that are over two feet thick at the base and massive foot square beams.

In the 1850’s the building was part of a foundry/ factory that made cast iron heating stoves.
